Dr. Bessie Rhodes Magnet School was founded in 1995 as Timber Ridge Magnet School. The school’s name was changed to honor its first principal, Dr. Bessie Rhodes. In April of 2011, the school board approved Dr. Bessie Rhodes Magnet School as a School of Global Studies. The mission for the school is to equip young people with the skills to become good global citizens who will contribute to and thrive in a dynamic and diverse world. The school offers kindergarten through eighth grade for students from the entire District 65 attendance area.
Willard School serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 5. Our focus is on creating a welcoming and engaging learning community. Teachers are involved in ongoing professional development work to implement effective teaching strategies that support every learner. We build positive home-school connections through a variety of avenues as we know that this is an integral component in student achievement.
